Following the November Board meeting, ECI REC’s management team and Board of Directors met with two members of the Iowa legislature: Senators Charlie McClintock and Eric Giddens. CEO Teresa Floyd gave an overview of Iowa’s electric cooperatives and the co-op business model. She also shared ECI REC’s mission and vision, as well as a few high-level stats on our distribution system, membership, and service area.

Both Senators were very appreciative of ECI REC’s invitation and the opportunity to put names with faces. They told the group that it’s invaluable to be able to go back to the Capitol and say they have met with us and have our contact information as a credible resource, if or when a need arises. CEO Floyd thanked the senators for their continued support and wished them a successful 2024 legislative session.
