ECI REC’s four-year Work Plan covers numerous upgrades to our system that will help deliver reliable, affordable power to our member-consumers. Projects slated for 2014 include overhead line rebuilds, conversions of overhead lines to underground, one new tie line, and a substation rebuild. ECI REC plans to have all 2014 Work Plan projects completed by November 1.
Twenty miles of overhead work was awarded to Highline Construction. The contractor is working on projects in both districts near our Aurora, Fairbank, Maryville, Jefferson, Becca, Lindahl, and Shellsburg Substations and plans to complete all of the work this fall.
M.J. Electric was awarded the Shellsburg Substation rebuild project, which started in August and is scheduled to be completed at the end of September.
West Union Trenching is assisting crews in both districts with cable installation for projects near our Maryville, Fairbank, Becca, and Lindahl Substations.
Your Cooperative crews completed one overhead project in May near our Spring Creek Substation and are working with the contractors to complete transfers on the other line projects and the Shellsburg Substation rebuild.
To keep you as informed about the construction as possible, ECI REC will send out automated voice messages to members in the area where Highline Construction or other crews will be working. In addition, each week we will be posting the current work areas of our construction contractors on ECI REC’s website and Facebook pages.
For the week of 9/15, Highline Construction will continue on Work Plan projects as highlighted in the maps below:
