Put those funky black-and-white squares to work
You may have noticed some unusual-looking boxes popping up in ECI REC print materials. These are called QR codes, and with the right tools, they can help you access important Cooperative information online from your smartphone.
Using QR codes is relatively simple. You do have to have a smartphone, and you may need to download an app de-signed to scan the codes. Some newer phones come with an app installed, but if not, a quick trip to your app store—whether it’s the Android Market, Apple App Store, BlackBerry App World, etc.—should have you well on your way. Some free apps to check out are Barcode Scanner (Android), QuickMark (Windows), and QR reader for iPhone (Apple).
When you come across a QR code, open your app, and center the code in the window. The most challenging part may be keeping your hand steady! Once the scan has registered, the material the QR code links to should appear on your screen. If you have any questions about using our QR codes, please email Manager of Communications Lisa Franck at firstname.lastname@example.org.
